Arizona GMRS Repeater Club, Inc. is a recognized 501(c)3 Non-Profit.

In 2013, a group of like-minded individuals in Arizona conceived the idea of utilizing GMRS radio as an additional means of communication for individuals & families. This idea gave birth to the Arizona GMRS Repeater Club, Inc.

The club’s original founders meticulously planned and organized its structure, leading to its incorporation on March 28, 2016. Subsequently, on April 28, 2017, they obtained non-profit status from the IRS.

Initially, the club operated with a single repeater located on White Tanks Mountain, serving approximately 20 families. Over time, the club expanded its reach to include Scottsdale, Mesa, and Flagstaff. The White Tanks repeater, situated at a high elevation, offers exceptional coverage of the Metro Phoenix area. As the club continues to grow, it remains committed to expanding further by identifying suitable sites for additional repeaters.

An essential focus of the club is fostering a strong sense of community centered around GMRS and the club itself. This emphasis on community has been instrumental in the club’s success and steady growth. Currently boasting a membership exceeding 400 individuals, the Arizona GMRS Repeater Club consistently attracts new enthusiasts who are eager to explore and develop their interest in GMRS.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the club places a strong emphasis on education and outreach. It actively promotes awareness about GMRS through various initiatives, including participating in hamfests with dedicated booths, organizing social meetups such as coffee and luncheon gatherings, hosting “Connection Fest” events, delivering speeches at other organizations, establishing connections with other clubs and repeater owners, and engaging in other outreach endeavors. These efforts provide valuable opportunities for individuals to connect with fellow GMRS enthusiasts, learn about the potential of GMRS operations, and contribute to the broader GMRS community.
